About the Role
Reporting to the Heritage Manager, this position provides visitor services at John Tizya Centre (JTC), organizing presentations, providing tours, creating exhibits and programs, researching and collecting exhibit materials and maintenance of exhibits. The position assists the supervisor in developing funding proposals, programming budgets and work plans. This position interacts with the general public constantly.
What We Offer
- $36.57 - $54.85 per hour/per annum Band 1 (Based on education & experience)
- Flexible Work Hours: Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation offers flexible working hours. Employees may choose to work 65, 70, 75, or 80 hours biweekly (some guidelines will apply).
- 4% Northern Community Remoteness Allowance for employees residing in Old Crow full-time
- 4% Northern Travel Allowance for employees residing in Old Crow full-time
- 4 weeks’ vacation to start plus two weeks paid time off over the Christmas season
- A very healthy extended benefits package
- 10 days sick pay per year
- 10 days paid special/personal leave per year
- A matched pension plan
- Subsidized Housing may be available
- Relocation Allowance
What You Bring:
- The ideal candidate will have completed Grade 12 or equivalency combined with post-secondary coursework in marketing, tourism, cultural studies or a related discipline.
- at least one year experience in program delivery or equivalent experience.
- have above average communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal, public relations skills and ability to multi-task.
- Knowledge and understanding of Vuntut Gwitchin traditions and values including understanding Vuntut Gwitchin history, culture and traditions is a requirement.
