About the Role

Reporting to the Community Services Manager, the position will be responsible for assisting the Water Delivery Driver with a variety of manual labour-related tasks, including lifting and moving equipment and materials, and completing inspections and reports.

What You Will Do
  • Operates equipment ensuring adherence to all safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Assists the operator to load, transport, and unload water supply to VGG locations and customers within the community.
  • Assists with load-related documentation prior to transporting and records the meter count on the delivery truck before filling each tank.
  • Assists with pre- and post-trip vehicle safety inspections as required by law to assure mechanical, safety and emergency equipment, is in good working condition. In the absence of a mechanic, helps with basic maintenance as needed. Communicates defects and maintenance needs to the manager.
  • Communicates any safety concerns immediately.
  • Assists in completing necessary paperwork at the end of the shift. 
  • Will be assigned to other delivery services as needed (fuel, septic).
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • A strong desire to uplift and support our community.
  • Experience working in an Indigenous northern community is an asset.
What We Offer 
  • $36.57 - $54.85 per hour (Based on education and experience)
  • Flexible Work Hours: Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation offers flexible working hours. Employees may choose to work 65, 70, 75, or 80 hours biweekly (some guidelines will apply)
  • 4% Northern Community Remoteness Allowance for employees residing in Old Crow full-time 
  • 4% Northern Travel Allowance for employees residing in Old Crow full-time
  • 4 weeks vacation to start plus two weeks paid time off over the Christmas season 
  • A very healthy extended benefits package
  • 10 days sick pay per year
  • 10 days paid special/personal leave per year
